Initially scheduled to release on 3 September 2009, the film was delayed due to the death of Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Y. S. Rajasekhara Reddy. It was eventually released two days later on 5 September 2009.

Ardh Satya won many awards and went on to become a landmark film in Indian film history. It is still considered to be one of the best cop films made in India. A sequel titled Party was released in 1984.
In the film, Teja Sajja stars as the protagonist who gets the powers of Lord Hanuman through a celestial gem. Set in the present day, the teaser then shows him bashing up the villains and ends with a shot that shows a glimpse of the titular deity himself. Actors Amritha Iyer, Vinay Rai, and Varalaxmi Sarathkumar also appear in the teaser
